COURSE OVERVIEW
This course is designed to strengthen governance capacity among members of Kenya’s County Education Boards (CEBs). It focuses on equipping participants with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to effectively oversee the implementation of education policies, ensure accountability, and promote quality and equitable education at the county level.
The course emphasizes practical governance approaches within the decentralized education system and aligns with national legal and policy frameworks. It will cover: governance structures in education; legal and policy frameworks guiding CEB operations; the roles and responsibilities of County Education Boards; leadership and ethical governance; stakeholder coordination and intergovernmental relations; education planning and oversight; financial accountability; risk management; and monitoring and evaluation to improve education outcomes.
