On the 27th of June 2025, KEMI held its 9th Graduation ceremony for the award of diploma in education leadership and management (DELM). This event marked a significant milestone as the institution celebrated the academic accomplishments of its graduates. The ceremony held at the KEMI headquarters was graced by officials from the education sector, government representatives, institutional leaders, and other key stakeholders.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Chair of the KEMI Council Dr. Mercy Karogo, who doubled up as the guest of honor extended her sincere gratitude, in particular, to VVOB and many other development partners for their invaluable support in strengthening KEMI’s capacity.  She noted that their contributions have facilitated the development of the Learning Management System (LMS), which is central to the delivery of the KEMI programmes as well as the networking of the computer laboratory.

While congratulating the graduands, the guest of honor also urged them to go forth and serve as ambassadors of KEMI by upholding integrity and doing what is right as well as giving back to this great nation through diligent service. She emphasized that they should strive to give their very best and embrace continuous professional and personal development.

Dr. Karogo lauded the organization’s growth and enhancement over the years.

“KEMI has modernized its infrastructure and operations, including launching a virtual campus to meet the changing needs of our educators. The Institute remains committed to providing opportunities for the professional development of school leaders in the education sector.” She remarked.

On his part, KEMI CEO Dr. Maurice Odondo appreciated the council and other stake holders for their support that has seen the institution grow in leaps and bounds to what it is today.

“To the KEMI Council, we appreciate your steadfast support in steering the institute’s vision. Your guidance has been critical in shaping the institution’s direction, ensuring that we continue to provide high-quality education and training to those who will lead our institutions of learning. Dr. Odondo noted.

“We also thank the Ministry of Education, Teachers Service Commission, SAGAS, development partners, and all stakeholders for your critical role in advancing KEMI’s mission. Your continued collaboration ensures that we remain at the forefront of leadership as capacity capacity-building agency of the Ministry of Education.” He added.

The ceremony which was a culmination of a journey of hard work and sheer determination by the students also highlighted KEMI’s mission of providing quality leadership training for education stakeholders and managers. The graduation saw a total of 601 graduates get conferred with the award of diploma in Education Leadership and Management, with 3 graduates flying higher than the others, getting distinctions and the other 598 managing commendable credit scores. KEMI has continued to grow and excel and prides itself as a giant in education leadership and management training.
