Mandate – Kenya Education Management Institute

The institute’s mandate is to develop the management capacity of all personnel involved in Education Management and training.

Legal Notice 19/2010 of the Education Act legally mandates KEMI to undertake capacity building activities in the education sector

Paper No. 1 of 2005 requires KEMI to provide in-service training to all education managers

IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 4A of the Education Act, the Minister for Education makes the following Order:-

This amendment order may be referred to as the education (Kenya Education Institute) (Amendment) Order, 2011. (Kenya Education Staff institute) Order, 2011
The Education (Kenya Education Staff Institute) Order, 2010, in this order referred to as “the principal order” is amended in paragraph 1 by deleting the expression “Kenya Education staff Institute and substituting therefore the expression” Kenya Education Management Institute
The principal order is amended in paragraph 2 by deleting the word “staff” appearing in the definition of the word “Institute “and substituting therefore the word “Management”
The principal order is amended in paragraph 3 by deleting the word “staff” and substituting therefore the word “Management”
The principal order is amended in paragraph 24 by deleting the expression “Kenya Education Staff Institute” wherever it occurs and substituting therefore the expression “Kenya Education Management Institute”
