KEMI hosts training programs at Dadaab refugee camp

Dadaab TrainingKEMI is training in Dadaab to empower education managers’ in charge of the education of refugee children.

Note that refugee children face unique protection challenges as a result of displacement. Refugee children separated from their parents or primary caregivers need immediate attention and protection.

KEMI, in collaboration with Care International emergency education program, undertook 2 training programs for 65 education administrators in Dagahaley refugee camp which is in Dadaab, Garissa County.

The training needs assessment had shown that the administrators of schools in this refugee camp were not certified even though they had been managing the education of the refugee children.

The training programs were held in August and December 2015 and focused on curriculum management and implementation.
